Wardwell Farm's mission is to build and share a local garden, farm, and nature-inspired curriculum that connects the community of all ages and abilities to a creative coalition of committed educators, families, farmers, cooks, and artists, all working towards promoting a healthful life rooted in nature.

Erin Combs

Erin is a mother of 3 and a passionate gardener with a background in Psychology & Education. (Mount Holyoke College) She made her way to Bainbridge Island from Puerto Rico in 2021. Growing up in Maine, she instantly fell in love with the Pacific Northwest's stunning environment and climate. With over 25 years of experience designing and building gardens for private clients, schoolyards and her community, Erin has a rich background in horticulture. She also shares her love for gardening as teacher, most recently working in Special Education at local elementary schools. Erin's playful and creative spirit shines through in her garden education on the farm, inspiring others to connect with nature.

Lauren Griffen

Lauren's journey into Montessori education began with the profound impact from her own early learning experiences. She is a certified Primary Guide from the Montessori Institute of San Diego and has enriched her teaching career at Bainbridge Island Montessori and Hazel Creek Montessori. With a BA in Theatre from The University of Alabama at Birmingham, Lauren has blended her love for education and performance, engaging children through acting and puppetry. A true adventurer at heart, Lauren embraces each as a chance for growth and exploration, both in and out of classroom.

Ziggy The Goat

Ziggy is the charismatic leader of the Wardwell farm herd, a unique blend of French Alpine, Oberhasli, and Nubian goat. He enjoys playful antics with his birth sister Stardust and his adopted Nigerian Dwarf brothers, Harvey and Thor, bringing joy to everyone who visits. With his wild romps around the paddock, Ziggy embodies the spirit of Wardwell and serves as Erin's right-hand man. Come and experience the lively energy he brings to the farm!
