Wardwell is a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Organization located on Bainbridge Island, Washington. We build and share a local garden, farm, and nature-inspired curriculum that connects the community of all ages and abilities to a creative coalition of committed educators, families, farmers, cooks, and artists, all working towards promoting a healthful life rooted in nature.

Upcoming Events & Programs
We will be offering day long camps 11:00am - 5:00pm on the BISD conference days, October 27 - 30th. Our time will be dedicated to the preparation of the Haunted Wardwell event. Seasonal snacks will be provided.
Children Kindergarten through 8th grade must register, anyone else (ages 15 and up) who wishes to volunteer may participate those days as well (no purchase needed). Please contact us to let us know when you can join the fun!
Half Day Conference Days are the perfect solution to our Haunted Wardwell dilemma. We need more creative kids to creep onto the property to help us prep the set, costumes, lighting, spooky music, and write the script for an eerie evening of fun in our kid-designed & executed haunted forest!
There will be plenty of time for free-play on the farm, in the woods, hanging with the bunny or in the coop. There will also be focused studio time as we continue work on our coyote masks and gigantic tarantulas, the usual.
On BISD Conference Days!!
We are so excited to announce a brand new, hands-on afterschool project at the farm this fall! We are calling all creative kids, teens, and spooky-loving adult volunteers to help us dream up and build a magical, haunted evening in the forest for our community!

This program is open to kids of all ages (Kindergarten and up!). Together, we will work on the ultimate fall community effort. There is a place for every kind of passion and interest, including:
- Set design, staging, and lighting design
- Sound effects and storyline creation
- Costumery, acting, and spooky art projects galore!
- Culinary fun as we make our own caramel popcorn balls, candied apples, and fall treats!
We are also looking for teen and adult volunteers who love Halloween and all things spooky to help mentor, guide, and bring this magical forest experience to life!
If your child would love to join this afterschool program, or if you'd like to jump in as a volunteer, please sign up for our afterschool programs which meet each day. PIck the 8 wk program that works for you or your child. We will also offer daytime slots once we have a sense for the numbers! Share with us your availability and skill set!
These light and carefree afternoons on the farm offer kids a chance to unwind after their school day in a lightly structured outdoor environment where they can connect with kids, animals and nature in a supportive community. We offer 1 fall session that runs for 8 weeks. Please choose the day that suits your family best. Each afternoon the program begins at 2:30pm and ends at 5pm. $400 per child. (Price is fixed for the 2.5hrs) We welcome Kindergarten - 6th grades for our elementary school offerings.
“Regular” Mondays will be reserved for our Tween / Teen farm hang and this program starts and ends later: 3:30-5:30pm. It will also include “walking school bus”: One of our Wardwell staff will greet kids at the front door of Sakai at the end of their school day and walk them to the farm. This is also an 8 wk run. $400/child.
We will offer full day long camps for the BISD Mondays monthly. 9:30-3pm $125/child.
Last Light Supper
Join us as the light wanes around our communal farm tables while our good friend Mira Rosenkotz serves up yet another beautiful locally sourced farm to table meal. We will gather by the fire, stroll around the farm, meet our new goat friends and make many new human friends too.
● Summer
Farm Camp is an opportunity for kids to explore the farm and studio spaces in a guided and lightly structured way with their community. We learn to treat all animals, friends and farm property with kindness and respect. Seasonal themes and prompts are provided. Be ready to join in on farm and garden lessons, craft-out in the studio, create a beautiful muddy mess in Mud Kitchen, fuss with the hens and goats, play outdoor games in the forest and field and have plenty of social time with peers and camp guides.
