Wardwell Sprouts

Farm Camp for the Little Ones

Open Enrollment!

Wardwell Farm Sprouts is a Montessori-Inspired Pre-School Camp for children ages 2.5-6 yrs. The 7.5 acre farm setting serves as an idyllic space to learn and grow, inside and out. Our Sprouts will engage in a Montessori-inspired classroom, outdoors in our large veggie garden, on the forest trails exploring nature, and alongside our farm friends, the goats, chickens and bees.  Our light-hearted curriculum offers our community experiential learning opportunities that deepen their relationship with nature, gardening, art and animals while developing their agency to affect change in their own lives and in their communities.

We have an enthusiastic team of experienced educators and artists eager to share their talents and time with your children in our diverse learning spaces creating special educational moments.

  • The Garden and the Farm: Work on the Farm with Little Hands

In the garden and around our kid-friendly farm animals, Sprouts receive instruction about the care of the environment in our large enclosed veggie garden, around the chicken coop, and in the goat paddocks. Our Potting Shed Garden Classroom is chock full of crafting and garden supplies and a fully equipped Mud Kitchen next to our popular Mud Mountain, where children use practical tools with a muddy sensorial experience. Our large farm tables are used to gather around and share stories while we share a bounty of garden treats.

  • The Forest and the Creek: Big World, Sprouting Little Dreams

Children are immersed in the magic of our 2.5 acres of beautiful island forest through the trails following Murden Creek and its surroundings. Joyful exploration and play with natural materials and manipulatives make this such a special and unique aspect of the Sprouts.

  • The Studio: Meaningful Work by Little Hearts

Sprouts will enjoy specialist led, process based art lessons with reuse, upcycled materials or collected nature bits with the occasional take home masterpiece. Our studio is a multi-use classroom for gathering, crafting, and fun. Another  sits alongside a sport court and an outdoor educational culinary space.

  • A Little Work in the Classroom with Montessori Materials

From making art, to zipping their jackets, collecting eggs, and watering plants – a Montessori classroom is where children choose self-directed activities and receive lessons from the teacher independently or in small groups based on the child’s readiness. Through careful and thoughtful observation, the teacher is able to curate lesson plans to each child’s individual needs and skills so that they can be successful when challenged. Our mixed-age classroom allows the children to grow in confidence and good will as they learn and expand their love of  learning while connecting with others. Children become mentors to their friends, sharing their special skills, and help to support each other in our nurturing, lovingly designed educational environment.

“Joy, feeling one’s own value, being appreciated and loved by others, feeling useful and capable of production, are all factors of enormous value for the human soul”  — Maria Montessori
